Wisdom tooth removal

Wisdom teeth refers to a third molar that usually comes through during late teenage or early adult years. Due to overcrowding or the direction in which the wisdom teeth grow, they may not be able to come in normally, causing them to be impacted against other teeth. 

Impacted wisdom teeth may lead to tooth decay, especially if oral hygiene is more difficult around the wisdom tooth. 

Wisdom teeth which have partially broken through the gum may also cause inflammation and lead to infection of the gums.

Olive Dental routinely takes a panoramic x-ray in order to perform a wisdom tooth extraction. Depending on the complexity of the extraction, recovery time can be anywhere between 1-5 days.
